Programs

We must set clear boundaries in the kitchen for our children while maintaining a fun environment! A very important part of this program for all ages is to create cooking habits that enforce kitchen safety. GP Kids Cooking also covers the importance of cleanliness while cooking, particularly for avoiding germs. This can include anything from hand washing to simply covering one’s mouth when sneezing. Throughout the course of the program, all Little Chefs will be learning proper nutrition as well as the basic food groups. Cooking classes will include weekly recipes as well as activities and games involving the food pyramid, compiling healthy plates, and sorting fruits and vegetables.

Development of Skills

Our youngest age group are the 2 1/2 year olds. I teach them how to identify various fruits and vegetables, while creating simple recipes. Our curriculum focuses on the process of growing plants and food.

For my 3-4 year old Little Chefs, I teach the food groups and help students make easy and healthy recipes as a group. Our menus revolve around the food groups and what we learn about healthy eating.

For my Little Chefs who are 5 years and older, I begin to allow them to read their own recipes, follow instructions on their own, and work independently as a group. The older the children are and the more cooking experience they have, the more responsibility they are given.

These days I have many children in my programs with allergies to peanuts so all of my recipes are completely peanut-free. Any questions please feel free to contact me @gpkidscooking@gmail.com.

We are 100% NUT FREE and also cater to other food allergies.
